On
the side of a picturesque valley, within an area of outstanding natural beauty,
we have, probably, one of the finest view points of Bodmin moor in Cornwall
UK. As well as the views of Cornwall's dramatic landscape, the downs contain
a multitude of scheduled ancient monuments, ranging from hut circles to abandoned
field systems and settlements, some of which can clearly be seen by the observant.
The valley is designated as a site of special scientific interest because of
its wide range of plant and animal life. In particular its variety of sedges,
grasses, rushes and wildflowers which support many dragonflies, damselflies,
butterflies and other insects which in turn support birds such as Curlew, Snipe,
Grey Plover, Buzzards, Warblers and Pipits.
The cottages are on a working moorland hill farm, it is an ideal place for walks,
or simply enjoying this peaceful environment.
The
beast of Bodmin moor is a frequent visitor to the area - you might spot him
if you come and stay.
From
